Laindon, George Hurd & Wickford
Over 50's Art
About
The Laindon, Basildon and Wickford art classes are open to anyone aged over 50. Each month we explore a different media and/or technique. Students are given the option to work on projects set by the tutor or can work on their own pieces of work. We have a wide range of abilities within the class. Some members have come from an art background, while others have not picked up a pencil or paint brush since they left school. If you are a total beginner, our tutors will happily guide you through the basic skills or drawing and painting.
As well as our regular tutor we are fortunate enough to have visits from other professional artists. The teaching style is highly tailored to each individual student, while at the same time being structured and informative, helping everyone at whatever stage of painting move forward.
Classes are lively, serious and fun!
On top of our art classes, we also encourage members to take part in art exhibitions and day trips.
Each centre has free parking, wheelchair access and has refreshments available.
